The 2017 NBA Draft is nearly upon us. Draft coverage will begin tomorrow at 6pm on ESPN and online at WatchESPN. Former Oklahoma State point guard, Jawun Evans, is looking to have his name called and his life changed. Evans averaged 19.2 PPG, 6.4 AST, 3.4 REB and 1.8 STL during his sophomore campaign. Despite his lack of height (6’0), Evans has been working out with teams and impressing.
Let’s take a look at when the “experts” think Evans will be drafted:

Sports Illustrated - Pick 38 - Bulls
CBS Sports - Pick 31 - Hawks
DraftExpress - Pick 38 - Bulls
MyNBADraft.com - Pick 30 - Jazz
Tankathon - Pick 23 - Raptors
Chad Ford - Pick 33 - Magic
NBA.com - Pick 30 - Jazz
It’s looking like many are predicting Evans to go in the late-first to early-second round. Tankathon has him going as early as 23 to the Raptors, and Sports Illustrated and DraftExpress both had Evans going as low as 38 to the Bulls.
There have been a few trades, rumors and Woj Bombs in the past few days, and the activity is unlikely to stop leading up to Thursday evening. With the Lakers moving D’Angelo Russell to Brooklyn yesterday, it seems as if LA (2nd and 28th pick) is clearing the way to select UCLA point guard, Lonzo Ball, at pick number two. This trade also solves one of the MANY problems Brooklyn has across the board. With these two teams committing to find out if they have found the point guard of the future, it leaves less of an opportunity for Evans in LA or Brooklyn.
Where do y’all think Jawun Evans lands? In silver and black? In Portland looking to relieve EVAN FREAKING TURNER of his backup point guard duties? Possibly playing in familiar territory at Chesapeake Arena?
We’ll be posting updates on Jawun Evans rumors during the hours leading up to the draft. Stay tuned! Go Pokes!!!
