The start of college football season keeps getting closer and as it does, Las Vegas betting odds continue to be released.

The latest come from the Golden Nugget Casino who released their odds for the “games of the year.” Eight Oklahoma State games are included in the list, and the Cowboys were favored in six.

OSU -18 Tulsa
OSU -3 1/2 Pittsburgh
OSU -4 1/2 TCU
OSU -7 Baylor
OSU +3 Texas
OSU -4 1/2 West Virginia
OSU +4 Oklahoma
OSU -8 Kansas State

Let’s get this out of the way first; I’m not surprised that the Sooners are favored in Bedlam, but by four points after Bob Stoops retired? That seems like a big gap.

But let’s forget Bedlam. Texas favored by a field goal? Even if it is in Austin, that’s ridiculous until Texas has proven that they are actually “back.” Seriously, I think OSU deserves more credit than that.

As far as the rest of the games, I’m really surprised OSU is favored by that much over Kansas State. The Wildcats should be better this year than last. Plus, do you know the last time OSU beat Kansas State by eight points or more? 2010 in a 24-14 victory. I expect this game to come down to a field goal.

That 18 points OSU is getting against Tulsa... against a team that was No. 4 in total offense last year? That seems like fools gold. Not that OSU won’t roll (or won’t win for that matter) just seems like a bad bet.

So fans, what do you think about the odds? Do you agree or disagree?
