Football and Basketball look like the favorites to land some talented size.

247Sports

Recruiting never stops for college athletics, especially in the off-season. Oklahoma State coaches are hard at work right now trying to bring in the next class of players to don the orange and black.

The recruiting roundup is our way of tallying up all the latest offers and visits by potential Cowboys.

FOOTBALL

CUT

4-Star Outside Linebacker Marcel Brooks

Marcel Brooks

Class of 2019, 4-star outside linebacker Marcel Brooks released his Top 13 schools on Saturday. Joining the list with the Cowboys were Texas, Oregon, Florida State, TCU, Penn State, OU, Florida, Baylor, Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama, and Clemson.

According to 247Sports, Texas is the overwhelming favorite to land Brooks

4-Star Athlete Taye Barber

Last Sunday, 4-star athlete Taye Barber out of Cyprus, Texas announced his top-12 schools, with Oklahoma State making the cut. The Cowboys joined Arizona, TCU, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa State, Utah, Ole Miss, Stanford, Tennessee, Clemson, and West Virginia.

As of now, 247Sports has TCU as the overwhelming favorite to land Barber.

Last season Baber was a swiss army knife for Cy Springs playing quarterback, running back, and receiver. He went 46/79 for 844 yards, 8 touchdowns and 4 interceptions through the air, had 86 carries for 385 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground, and caught 9 passes for 256 yards and one touchdown.

4-Star Safety Israel Mukuamu

4-star safety Israel Mukuamu out of Bossier City, Louisiana knocked his 19 offers down to nine including Oklahoma State, Florida, Florida State, Purdue, Indiana, Ole Miss, South Carolina ,Louisville, and Georgia State.

In a recent interview with Scout, Mukuamu says the Cowboys are pushing for him, and comparing him to another hard-hitting strong safety currently on the roster.

"One of the first schools to show interest in me when I first moved down here to Louisiana. They want me to come in and play a big-time role in that strong safety spot like their strong safety right now Tre Flowers is doing.”

Oklahoma State looks like they’re in a good spot with Mukuamu, but are going to have to work hard to ward off Florida and Florida State who have also been coming at him hard.

VISIT

3-Star Cornerback JayVeon Cardwell

OSU got a visit from class of 2018, 3-star cornerback JayVeon Cardwell of Cibolo, TX. Cardwell has offers from 19 schools including OSU, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Duke, Houston, and Tulsa among others. The Cowboys made their offer back in April.

Last season for Steele High School, he had 54 tackles including three TFLs, seven interceptions including one returned for a TD, and six pass breakups. Without a true cornerback currently committed in the class, landing Cardwell would be a solid addition for 2018.

4-Star Defensive Tackle Tayland Humphrey

Tayland Humphrey

4-star DT Tayland Humprey out of Hutchinson Community College made a trip to Stillwater last weekend, the same time his brother John Bolding III received an offer from Oklahoma State.

Tayland has 22 offers from schools like OSU, OU, Texas A&M, Tennessee, West Virginia, South Carolina, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and LSU among others.

Tayland’s tweet about he and his brother ending up at the same school is big especially considering 247Sports has Oklahoma State as the favorites to land his brother. OSU and Florida International are the only two Division-1 schools to offer both brothers.

Check out the highlights of Tayland below, followed by highlights of his brother John.

NEWS

2-Star Receiver Gabriel Lemons Talks OSU Commitment

Oklahoma State’s latest commit, 2-star Coppell, TX receiver Gabe Lemons, spoke to Greg Powers of Scout.com about his excitement to play in the Big 12, his father who is a Texas Tech alum,

Most importantly, he talked about why he chose Oklahoma State.

“I like... pretty much everything about (OSU). Before I decided to make my commitment I made a pros and cons list of my top four, and after looking at it, making everything, Oklahoma State had no cons.... the facilities are all brand new, everything is beautiful over there. The thing that sold me, the thing I liked the most was that the coaches care more about the person than they care about the player.”

BASKETBALL

VISIT

4-Star Center David McCormack

David McCormack

Mike Boynton and co. played host to 4-star big man David McCormack this weekend. The 6-foot-10, 290 lb. center from Mouth of Wilson, Virginia is ranked as the 60th best player in his class by Rivals, and the 50th best player by 247Sports. The point is, he’s good, and be a huge get for Oklahoma State.

At the moment, McCormack has offers from 24 schools including OSU, Duke, Kansas, Georgetown, Maryland, Florida State, Louisville, and Baylor among others.

The good news is the “experts” are starting to lean toward OSU landing McCormack. According to 247Sports, the six latest predictions are all Oklahoma State, putting them ahead of Georgetown and right behind Duke.

Based on the photo in the tweet above, McCormack would look very good in orange and black for the next year of two. Here’s hoping it happens.
