One of my favorite days of the year are here! Oklahoma State has released their non-conference schedule for the 2017-18 season.
The schedule includes four of last year’s RPI Top-100 teams, three NCAA Tournament teams, and one College Invitational Tournament team. It features neutral site match-ups against Florida State, a No. 3 seed in last seasons Big Dance, and two of either Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, or Penn State.
The schedule also features some familiar faces including Oral Roberts. OSU is 15-5 all -time against ORU, and will face the Golden Eagles for the first time since 2007. The Cowboys will also face Tulsa for the second year in a row, and for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons. OSU is 72-38 all-time against the Golden Hurricane, including winning six of the last seven.
OSU will go for the series sweep against Wichita State when they welcome them to Stillwater. The Cowboys beat the Shockers 93-76 last season.
The Cowboys will also face Arkansas for the second year in a row in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. OSU will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas for their only true road game of the season, and final non-conference game. OSU trounced the Razorback last season in Stillwater, 99-71.
This year’s 13 game slate features three neutral site games, nine home games, and only one true road game. While that might not impress the selection committee come March, it’s a good way to break in a new coaching staff featuring a first-time head coach, and at least two new starters.
Take a look at the full schedule below. Which game are you most excited for fans? Let us know in the comments section.
