Oklahoma State picked second by media in Big 12 preseason poll

The media seems to like the Cowboys

Thursday morning, the Big 12 announced the preseason rankings voted on by media executives.

Coming out on top of the ranking is rival Oklahoma. By a very small margin, Oklahoma State was voted second.

Oklahoma State recieved 12 of 32 first-place votes for a total of 294 points. The Sooners earned 19 first-place votes for a total of 303. Kansas State earned the last first-place vote.

With the Big 12 Championship coming back this season, it looks like if the media is right, we’ll have a Bedlam part two for the championship. The Cowboys and Sooners will face off during the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 4th in Stillwater.

Kansas State comes in third, with Texas and TCU rounding out the top five.

West Virginia, Baylor, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Kansas finish off the list.

It’s nice to see Oklahoma State getting a bit of recognition from the media. It’s hard to ignore an OSU team that brings back Mason Rudolph and James Washington. It’s nice to know that we did get some first place votes.

Hopefully, when the season is over, the Cowboys will have proved the media wrong and have earned their second Big 12 title.
