While everyone’s favorite former Oklahoma State golfer Rickie Fowler is seven shots back from the lead at the Quicken Loans National, we can turn our attention to a former Cowboy in contention.
Peter Uihlein has a share of the lead entering the final round of the HNA French Open at Le Golf National in Paris. He enters Sunday’s final round tied for first at 8-under with Sweden’s Alexander Bjork. Three other players are tied one shot behind them at 7-under.
Uihlein is unsurprisingly excited to be in the position to get his first Euro Tour win since the Madeira Islands Open in 2013.
“It’s what you practice for and it’s what you play for is to get in contention on Sunday in the final group and see how it goes. I was proud of the way I handled myself on the back nine. I felt like I hit it a lot better after a shaky start. I’m excited for tomorrow.”
Uihlein carded an even par 71 on Saturday after back-to-back 4-under 67s to open the tournament.
He actually came close to ending the day 1-under after this shot on hole 18.

Uihlein, currently ranked No. 162nd in the world, is projected to move into the top 70 with a win. He will also take home a cool $7 million.
Uihlein will tee off at around 7:10 a.m. our time Sunday morning.
Good luck Peter.
