Praise continues to roll in for this 2017 Oklahoma State football team. Just last week, Athlon Sports claimed the Pokes had the best wide receiving corps in the country. Now today, notable Fox Sports analyst and commentator Joel Klatt says Mason Rudolph is the preseason favorite for the Heisman Trophy.
“He’s this perfect combination of on-the-radar, yet not the favorite, where we’ll pay attention to him as he puts up gaudy numbers when they’re likely undefeated through the first half of the season, maybe three quarters of the season before they play Oklahoma.”
Klatt kept going, adding “Yet, he’s not the favorite. We’re not going to expect him to be perfect every single week. Mason Rudolph and that offense and that wide receiver corps will put up huge numbers, and we are going to be following him each and every week en route to what I believe is a Heisman Trophy for Oklahoma State.”
Rudolph returns for his senior season after throwing for 4,091 yards, 28 touchdowns and just four interceptions in 2016. With a deeper, more talented receiver group, an All-American tailback, and a more experienced offensive line, the opportunity is there for Rudolph to bring home the second Heisman Trophy in Oklahoma State history.
Check out the full video below, in which Klatt outlines his entire Heisman Trophy field.
