Some new hardware has been added into Boone Pickens Stadium. Today, 1945 National Champions has been added on the east side of the stadium next to 2011 Big 12 Champions.

Last year, Oklahoma State was retroactively awarded the 1945 National Championship by the American Football Coaches Association. The trophy has been in Stillwater since October, and now team is immortalized in Boone Pickens Stadium. This could be used as motivation for the 2017 team as they have title aspirations.

Some of the Cowboy faithful aren’t pleased with the decision.
Please, Please take this down. We already can't stand UO fans as they are. Quit giving them more ammo.

This seems like bad karma going in to a year where we have a legitimate chance

And, of course, OU fans had a blast making fun of the decision, acting like their team has never claimed a championship.
Might as well.hang a banner every time you beat Oklahoma. Would be more impressive and real than this crap.

However, leave it to sideline reporter Robert Allen to attempt to set the record straight.
For all the football fans that don't know their history, prior to the BCS all FB NCs were given, usually several a year. That title legit.

Going in and seeing "National Champions" inside BPS will be an incredible feeling for Cowboys fans, even if it happened 72 years ago. We're 15 days away from Cowboy football, folks!
