Oklahoma State football continues to receive accolades from national sources ahead of the 2017 season.
In a not-exactly-scientific personal poll, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach tabbed the Cowboys as the year’s most entertaining team.

Beating out the likes of Penn State, Clemson and Southern Cal, Mike Gundy and crew received the top slot by half a point over USC thanks to the combination of offensive firepower, an un-Saban-like coaching approach and the presence/demeanor of booster T. Boone Pickens.
Five Factors Schlabach Utilized:
- (Paul) Finebaum Factor: national impact
- (Nicholas) Cage Factor: recognizable leading man/men
- (Steve) Spurrier Factor: offensive appeal
- (Lee) Corso Factor: pageantry
- (Hugh) Freeze Factor: scandal and rivalry
Using these five criteria and also personal preference or a coin flip to settle ties, here's Schlabach's Top Ten:
10. Michigan
9. LSU
8. Alabama
7. Oklahoma
6. Ohio State
5. Florida State
4. Penn State
3. Clemson
2. USC
- Oklahoma State
Schlabach cites what we’ve been anticipating since Mason Rudolph and James Washington chose to stick around for one more ride in Orange Country and in the aftermath of Gundy’s adventures in social media and mullet prestige.
This program is the collegiate showcase to watch all season long.
