High Noon Highlights(9/1): Oklahoma State’s First Home Game has some Special Guests and More!

It’s high noon, here are your highlights

NCAA Football: Tulsa at Oklahoma State Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

A Military Homecoming:

During the game yesterday, Logan McNan was honored as the Pistol Pete Partner of the Game. Little did he know he was in for the surprise of his life. Normally, they say “Go Pokes” at the end of the presentation, but McNan was surprised with a video from his big brother Corporal Kyle McNan who was deployed serving in the USMC. The surprise went even further when the corporal showed up in the stadium. This was amazing and there wasn’t a dry eye in the stadium.

Post Game Interviews:

After the Cowboys handed a huge loss to the Golden Hurricanes, O-State TV was in the film room as media caught up with some of the players. Justice Hill talked about playing against former teammates and the depth at the running back position. Mason Rudolph talked about his touchdown and Tyron Johnson talked suiting up with Rudolph. Watch the interviews here:

Thamel Says Focus on the Team:

Pete Thamel, a college football writer for Yahoo Sports, wrote a great piece about how this team is worth focusing on and that they have National Championship hopes. You can read the article here:

Cowboy Basketball Makes a Schedule Change:

There’s going to be another nationally televised game for Cowboy Basketball this upcoming season. The game on Dec. 9 against the Wichita State Shockers in Gallegher-Iba Arena will be on ESPN2. The game starts at 3 p.m. This game is in addition to all of the conference games that will be nationally televised.

Cowboy Basketball Alums in Attendance in Boone Pickens Stadium:

Markel Brown, Michael Cobbins and Jawun Evans all came back to visit their alma mater for the game yesterday. All three of the former Cowboys are making moves in the NBA. It was great to see them come back. Once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy.

T.Boone Pickens Makes Home Opener:

There was one last special guest in attendance yesterday, T. Boone Pickens was in the house that Boone built. This was great to see after there were reports that T. Boone would miss his first home opener in years. Boone gave the crowd a wave as he was given a shoutout over the PA system.

Go Boone and Go Pokes!

That’s all for today folks, have a great weekend!
