Late Tuesday night, the Oklahoma State Alumni Association revealed its selection for Grand Marshal for the 2017 Homecoming Festivities.

It’s none other than Rickie Fowler.

Fowler, as you all know, is one of OSU’s biggest supporters. He sports orange during the final round of every golf tournament as a reminder to everyone who his alma mater is.

Chris Batchelder, the OSU Alumni Association president, had this statement in the press release.

“This year’s Homecoming events are celebrating the fame of our institution and our alumni, and there are few Cowboys more famous than Rickie Fowler,” said Batchelder. “Rickie is an outstanding ambassador for Oklahoma State University and Cowboy Golf, and we’re thrilled to have him return for ‘America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration’ in Stillwater.”

Fowler is understandably excited to be awarded the honor.

“I come back to Stillwater and OSU as often as I can,” Fowler says. “Stillwater is and always will be my home away from home. My two years as a student-athlete at OSU indelibly marked my life and my career.

“I am and will always be a Cowboy. I am very excited and proud to come home for ‘America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration’ and serve the Cowboy family as its Homecoming Grand Marshal.”

The Homecoming Festivities begin on Friday with Walkaround and continue with Homecoming and Hoops. Then comes the quick turnaround for the Sea of Orange Parade Saturday morning, followed by a pep rally at the Alumni Center and finally, the Homecoming game vs. the (currently) 0-2 Baylor Bears.

The fun officially kicks off Friday, Oct. 13. at 5:30 p.m. in Greek neighborhood. Come see how OSU makes this year “America’s Greatest Homecoming” once again!
