Mike Boynton has been doing some serious work on the recruiting trail. The head man is in on a few highly touted recruits across America, including David McCormack, Landers Nolley, and Elijah Weaver.
Boynton added to that list today when four-star guard Antwann Jones announced Oklahoma State had cracked his top four schools list. Along with the Cowboys, he narrowed his schools down to Memphis, NC State, and Kansas.

A native of Tampa, Fl. (Oak Ridge Academy), Jones’ recruitment fits a similar pattern of other current Cowboy targets; being from the east coast. We thought when Boynton was hired that he’d be able to use his ties to recruit on the eastern seaboard, but he’s done it quicker than I think anybody had thought.
Jones is the 13th-ranked shooting guard in the class of 2018, and is the ninth-ranked player in the state of Florida. He’s a well-built prospect, already sitting at 6’6”, 210 lbs. With that frame, he could easily come in and contribute.
His chances to land at Oklahoma State seem more than a pipe dream, too. 247Sports.com crystal ball projection currently has him as a 100% lock to commit to the Cowboys.
Whether or not you liked the hire of Mike Boynton, it’s become clear in his first months as the head coach that he is not afraid to go after the big fish. That could lead to some really fun times ahead in Stillwater.
