The Cowgirls couldn’t make it out of California undefeated after losing their last match of the weekend to Cal 3-0 on Sunday.
The Cowgirls just couldn’t manage to get much going when they had the ball. There were no shots on goal for the Cowgirls. Meanwhile the Bears had four shots on goal. Of those four, three made it into the net.
Midfielder Claire Gantzer provided a little offense for the Cowgirls today, taking two shots. However, the Cal defense proved to be too much for the Cowgirls, whose offense had been great up to this point.
Forward Jaci Jones got herself in some trouble and was given a yellow card in the 82nd minute.
The scoring was all Cal with a goal from the top of the box from Mia Corbin in the 44th minute, a distance goal in the 48th minute from Guro Bergsvand and a deep goal from Heather Walleigh in the 82nd minute put the match away for the Bears.
The Cowgirls will look to bounce back at Cowgirl Soccer Complex starting conference play against OU next Friday.
