Big 12 Best Bets: Week 5

Week 4 humbled everyone a little bit and proved that there’s no such thing as an easy winner when it comes to picking against a spread. After two weeks of picks here are the current records for each of our four pickers:

Joel: 6-7-3 vs Spread; 10-6 vs Total; 1-1 vs. Upset Pick

Cullen: 7-6-3 vs. Spread; 9-7 vs Total; 0-2 vs. Upset Pick

Baylor (+16.5) @ Kansas State (55.5)

Joel: I think K State will win, but I’ll take Baylor +16.5. Kansas State doesn’t have the offensive firepower to blow a team out, they hold the ball too long. I’ll take the under as well.

Cullen: Baylor and Ill take the over.

Will: Even though they’re winless, Baylor is trending up and K state has some offensive issues. Baylor covers and taking the under

#15 OSU (-10.5) @ Texas Tech (84)

Joel: I think the Cowboys will pull away late cover the spread. I’m also taking the over, all the points will be scored.

Cullen: Cowboys and the under

Will: Pokes barely cover this one. I’ll take the under

Cory: Tech/under, I’ll gladly take a loss if the Pokes want to cover this!

National Games

#5 USC (-4.5) @ #16 Washington State (62.5)

Joel: Give me Washington State +4.5 and over. Wazzu is gonna pull the upset here!

Will: Going with the Pirate. USC has been playing teams way too close for comfort and they finally slip up here. Washington State and the under

#2 Clemson (-7.5) @ #12 Virginia Tech (50.5)

Joel: Clemson will cover the -7.5 and I will take the under. That Clemson defense is really good, I think they can hold VA Tech in check in this one.

Upset Pick of the Day

Joel: Illinois +5.5 at home against Nebraska on Friday night. I’ll also take the over at 47.5.

Cullen: I’ll take Iowa +4 over MSU

Will: Going with Utah State +1.5 over BYU. The Cougs have looked miserable so far in 2017

Cory: Wake Forest at home as underdogs to Florida State.
