Mike Gundy Previews South Alabama

In his weekly press conference, Mike Gundy previewed the game against the South Alabama Jaguars. Here is what he had to say:

On South Alabama:

"I've watched some of their film. They have a returning quarterback from last year that was injured, so they have another guy playing now. They have good team speed. It's like every other game and if you look at the scores from last week, it's all about preparation. Fans and media may get tired of hearing that, but that's the way it is. We have to maintain our focus, because if you let your guard down, you can get beat. We need to be ready to go Friday night and have a good week of practice."

On going on the road (and not repeating Troy in 2007):

"I think we're a better team now. That was really early in my career and how we got to this point I'm not sure. When you go play down there, the field is still 52 yards wide. I think our organization and our program is more mature now than it was in years past. We're still vulnerable at all times, and it's never as comforting to play on the road as it is to play at home. Our players understand that and we've had those discussions. We're holding them responsible for preparation and playing like we're playing at home."

Davon Dillard's Foot Surgery

Over the weekend, it was reported that Oklahoma State shooting guard Davon Dillard had a minor foot surgery.

Dillard has said the surgery was a success, and that he is on the road to recovery now.

Thanks for all the prayers , surgery went as well as it possibly can ‼️

However, Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World is reporting that there is no timetable for his return. Hopefully he can get fully healthy as soon as possible and get ready for the upcoming season. Get well soon, Davon!

Some Tuesday Humor

Texas was a 20 point favorite at home and lost to Maryland, Baylor played FCS Liberty at home and was a 34 point favorite (but still lost), and Texas A&M had a 44-10 lead in the 3rd quarter and lost. It was a rather bad football weekend for the state.

Have a great day everyone and come back tomorrow for more High Noon Highlights!
