Football Recruiting: Oklahoma State Offers Three, Hosts a Visitor

Plus, a 2019 target gets bumped to a 4-star in the latest rankings

As we grow nearer the first signing period for the class of 2019, news has slowed significantly for Oklahoma State. With 17 out of the possible 25 scholarships committed for, the Cowboys are focusing on filling the roster out with needs.

That said, it doesn’t mean they aren’t still hard at work looking for future Cowboys.

2019 JUCO Defensive Tackle Sione Asi Picks up OSU Offer:

This week, the Cowboy coaching staff made an offer to JUCO DT Sione Asi.

Currently in his final season at Snow College in Reno, Nevada, Asi is listed as the No. 13 player at his position in the 2019 class.

At this point, it doesn’t look like Asi has any other Division I offers, which should put Oklahoma State in the driver’s seat.

As of now, Oklahoma State has two defensive tackles committed for 2019 in Jayden Jernigan and Xavier Ross. With senior DTs Enoch Smith Jr. and Trey Carter exhausting their eligibility and Darrion Daniels likely to forgo another season, it would leave OSU with one senior and one junior defensive tackle in 2019. Adding Asi next year would be valuable for a position with a lot of youth but little experience.

2020 Offensive Tackle Jaylan Jeffers Receives Offer:

3-Star offensive tackle Jaylan Jeffers is the first of two 2020 offensive linemen that Josh Henson offered recently.

Jeffers, out of Scottsdale, AZ, currently has offers from seven schools including Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State, Louisville, Indiana, Utah, and Washington State. Michigan is also reportedly interested in the fast rising tackle.

2020 Offensive Tackle Noah Nelson Receives Offer:

The second tackle prospect, 3-star Noah Nelson, is also out of Arizona. The Williams Field High School prospect currently has an impressive list of 11 offers including Oklahoma State, Michigan, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, Arizona, and more.

Currently rated as the 54th best offensive tackle in the 2020 class, he’s a rising star who’s offer list is sure to continue to grow.

2020 Quarterback Elijah Williams Makes Unofficial Visit:

2020 quarterback prospect Elijah Williams was on hand on Saturday to watch Oklahoma State upset West Virginia. The Sapulpa, Oklahoma player had also previously made a visit to Oklahoma State’s camp over the summer.

As of now, Williams is unranked and has just one offer, from North Texas, who is reportedly recruiting him to play tight end.

2019 Receiver Langston Anderson now a Four Star:

In the latest player ranking update, 247Sports moved wide receiver Langston Anderson up to a 4-star prospect and from No. 650 nationally to No. 447.

Anderson just wrapped up an official visit to Baylor last weekend. The trip appears to have strengthened the belief that Anderson will commit to the Bears, who picked up three more crystal ball predictions to make them the 73% favorite to land the talented receiver, followed by Oklahoma State with 18$ and Texas with 9%.

Anderson is the Cowboys top target at receiver for 2019. As of now, OSU does not have a receiver commit in the class.
