With the loss to TCU on Saturday, Oklahoma State finishes the regular season at 6-6, 3-6 in Big 12 play and in ninth place thanks to tie-breakers. Yup, that’s below Kansas State and Texas Tech who both went 5-7 this season.
That means Oklahoma State is still in play for at least four bowl games; the Texas, Liberty, Cheez-It, and Armed Forces Bowl. And as such, it seems the prognosticators have zero idea what’s going to happen.

Like last week, the Liberty Bowl is still the favorite, but it really feels like no one has a real idea what is going to happen. There’s still the issue of who wins the Big 12. If OU wins, it pushes everyone down a line. If Texas wins, OSU would be in line for a better bowl because both the Longhorns and Sooners would likely get New Year Six bowl berths.
Personally, I still think there’s a good shot OSU is in Memphis in December, even with teams like TCU and Baylor finishing ahead of them due to tie-breakers. Also, it’s the bowl game I’m really hoping for.
Unless the school and a certain bowl are already in talks, it’s likely going to be another week before we get a good idea where Oklahoma State will spend their holiday break.
