Last week’s delusion met last weekend’s reality. I’m guessing it will only get worse.
The bizarre thing? How the hell the schedulers figured out how to coordinate this so that the teams were perfectly aligned with their respective schedules to give us watchable and meaningful games as we come down the stretch in November.
1. Oklahoma / West Virginia
You guys are on a collision course for the Big 12 game of the year on 11/23 because there is the distinct possibility that the loser will be OUT of the Big 12 title game depending on what happens with Texas and/or Iowa State. Wow.
3. Iowa State / Texas
You guys are on a collision course for the Big 12 spoiler game of the year on 11/17 because whichever one of you can get to the end with only two losses in conference will determine whether the loser of the Big 12 game of the year (see above) is OUT of the title game.
5. Texas Tech / Baylor
You are headed for a showdown 11/24 to see who can avoid being associated with the flotsam and jetsam in the bottom half of the league.
7. Oklahoma State / TCU
Depending on how this plays out, you will have a showdown for bowl eligibility for at least one of you on 11/23. Fun stuff.
9. The State of Kansas
The Purple Wizard on his way out? Loopy Les on his way in? We can get to that after you guys decide who will occupy the basement this Saturday at 12pm Eastern.
