Sometimes when it comes to evaluating a prospect, it’s more important to look at the teams who have offered them, than the star rating.
That’s certainly the case for 2020 3-star offensive tackle Tosh Baker, who picked up a scholarship offer from Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Oklahoma State is the fifth school, and fifth power-5 program to offer Baker, a 6-foot-(!!!), 260-pound tackle from Phoenix, Arizona. Joining OSU are Oklahoma, UCLA, Arizona State, and Utah. Arizona is also showing interest in the in-state prospect.
Baker is a two-sport athlete who also plays basketball for Pinnacle High School. He’s rated as a 3-star player at his position, the sixth best basketball prospect in Arizona in 2020, and currently has hoop offers from Cal Poly, Northern Arizona, and UC Santa Barbara. He has also seen some interest from Stanford to play on the hardwood.
We all know how much Mike Gundy loves multi-sport athletes, so it’s obvious why he and Josh Henson would be interested. That said, Oklahoma should have a good shot at landing him, as Baker plays left tackle in front of Sooner 2019 quarterback commit Spencer Rattler.
After you check out his football and basketball highlights below, take a look at what Rattler and his high school coaches have to say about Baker, and what his size brings to the game.
