While we’ve all been focused on football and the bowl announcement, Oklahoma State basketball coach Mike Boynton turned attention back to basketball with just one emoji.

It was just 2 hours after that we learned exactly what Boynton was getting our attention for; the commitment of 4-star 2020 point guard Davonte Davis. He announced his commit via a video on Twitter.

Davis, 6-foot-2, 150-pound PG from Jacksonville, Arkansas, is the top ranked player in the Natural State in the 2020 class, and the 24th ranked point guard.
The commitment to the Cowboys, their first 2020 commit, came over offers from nine other schools, including Arkansas, Auburn, Oregon, Florida, Southern Miss, SMU, Saint Louis, Oral Roberts, and Abilene Christian.
Oklahoma State had been believed to be in the lead to land Davis for sometime so the announcement isn’t a big surprise. Davis was on hand for Homecoming and Hoops and got to watch Oklahoma State beat Texas in football.
Boynton has put an emphasis on recruiting some of the best players in the surrounding area.
