Snow College (Nevada) defensive tackle Sione Asi has committed to Oklahoma State. Asi announced the news on his Twitter this morning.

Asi will provide some experience to a line that has lost Jordan Brailford to the NFL and Darrion Daniels to grad transfer.

Asi is the sixth defensive tackle commit of 2019. He had 36 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss in 2017. The 6-2 and 320- pounds tackle had quite the bowl game for Snow College according to 24/7 Sports.

This past weekend, Asi and Snow College faced one of the best JUCOs in the country in Iowa Western in the Graphic Edge Bowl. By the end of a game for a defense, it’s typically a safety or a linebacker who leads a team in tackles. Well, this time it was neither for Snow as Sione Asi finished the game as the Defensive MVP as he recorded 13 total tackles, including 10 solo stops and five tackles for a loss. Iowa Western ended up winning 19-17 but just to give you an idea of how good these teams are, in the final JUCO poll of the season, Iowa Western finished ranked No. 4 in the country with a 10-1 record and Snow finished ranked No. 9 with an 8-3 record.

Asi is currently the No.2 player in the state of Nevada according to 24/7Sports.
