High Noon Highlights (4/30): Cowboy Baseball Makes Jump to #19 After Bedlam Sweep

Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics.

It’s high noon...

Oklahoma State moves to #19 in Baseball America rankings:

After a perfect 4-0 week which include a win over Dallas Baptist, and a Bedlam sweep, the Cowboys have moved up in this week’s newest rankings. By virtue of the Bedlam sweep, they knocked OU out of the top 25, and virtually removed OU from of Big 12 contention. Notable Big 12 moves in the new rankings:

  • Texas drops to #20.
  • Texas Tech drops to #9.
  • OU drops out of Top 25.

Cowboy Baseball RPI moving on up:

Not only did the sweep over OU cause the Cowboys’ ranking to skyrocket, but it also gave their RPI a boost. They’ve cracked the top 25, coming in at #21 via D1Baseball.com. They still have yet to play Texas Tech, who has the third-best RPI in the country. A couple of wins against the Red Raiders could come in handy around decision time for the College World Series, especially regarding regional host sites.

It turns out that Dax Hill is insanely fast:

Dax Hill, little brother of current Oklahoma State running back Justice Hill, Has officially put Oklahoma State in his top six. And after seeing his stats from The Opening, you’ll be glad he did. His results were eye-popping.

His 4.3 second 40 and 43.6” vertical both rank in the 99th percentile. Hill is currently ranked in the top 40 in the 2019 class, but his stock is sure to rise in the coming weeks with more opportunities to show off his freaky athletic abilities.
