High Noon Highlights (5/11): Oklahoma State could be poised to make another splash on the recruiting trail

It’s been a huge 24 hours for Oklahoma State Hoops, and tonight, a decision could alter the course for 2018 in a big way.

It’s a Friday edition of High Noon Highlights, folks...

ICYMI: Oklahoma State Hoops landed a big-time commitment last night:

It was an eventful evening for Cowboy Hoops and fans alike yesterday. In the late afternoon, Mike Boynton sent everyone into a frenzy with his signature way of announcing a new addition to the program.

We knew Maurice Calloo was on a visit, and sure enough, Calloo committed last night, and signed with the Cowboys this morning, according to his Instagram page. From our post last night:

Standing at 6’8”, 210 lbs., he brings a D1-ready frame to Stillwater, with an elite offensive game to boot. He’s a gifted scorer in the post, and has the natural ability to put the ball on the floor and make a move. As Cowboys fans know all too well, that combination hasn’t been seen in Gallagher-Iba Arena in quite some time. His skillset will be a welcomed sight for Oklahoma State fans in 2018.

Calloo dishes on decision to pick OSU on Pistols Firing Blog:

Kyle Boone of PistolsFiringBlog.com spoke to Calloo about his decision to pick the Pokes, and his thoughts on the program are incredibly exciting.

“Oklahoma State is, simply, the best fit for me,” said Calloo. “Just from a coaching standpoint, I like what Coach Boynton has been doing with the program. He’s doing big things. To me, there’s nothing more important and valuable to me to play for a coach that I like.”

He continued...

“I feel like we can win a national championship,” said Calloo. “Me committing to OSU is me visualizing us winning a national championship.”

Boynton has said many times that a banner will hang in the rafters of Gallagher-Iba Arena, and Calloo has the same aspirations for Oklahoma State. It’s awesome to see visions for the program aligning from coach to recruit. What a fun time this is for Cowboy Hoops. 2018 can’t come soon enough.

Isaac Likekele will make his college decision at 4 P.M. today:

One of the top available guards in the country will announce his collegiate destination today, and Oklahoma State figures to be more than just in the mix.

Signs are pointing to Likekele leaning towards Oklahoma State, and in a conversation with TheTB5Reports.com in which he laid out what he loved about his visit, it’s clear OSU made an impact while he was in Stillwater.

Oklahoma State was another really good visit, I really enjoyed the location and how everything close is a plus. What I like about Coach Boynton is he’s the same type of guy I am, he was doubted by everyone when he got the job, had a great year and proved them wrong. That’s basically the same mindset I’m taking to college with me.

Nothing is set in stone, but it’s looking more and more likely (heh, get it?) that the uber-talented point guard ends up in Stillwater.

To drive the nerves up even more, Cowboy Hoops sent out this cryptic tweet, presumably regarding Likekele’s decision:

ALL OF THE EMOJI’S!
