Oklahoma State hoops has scheduled Minnesota for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, meeting in Minnesota in December 2018 and in Oklahoma in 2019.
The game in Minnesota will be held at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the 2019 Final Four, and the game in Oklahoma the following season will be held at the BOK Center in Tulsa. It will be the first game in the BOK Center for the Cowboys since a 2010 tilt with Tulsa, according to The Tulsa World.
#OKState hoops scheduling news: Oklahoma State and Minnesota have scheduled a series at the Vikings' U.S. Bank Stadium and Tulsa's BOK Center.— Mark Cooper (@mark_cooperjr) May 7, 2018
The Gophers finished just ahead of Brad Underwood’s Illini in the Big 10 standings last year with a 4-14 conference record and 15-17 overall. Minnesota returns two of its top three scorers from last season along with three of its top five in minutes per game.
While Minnesota might not be the RPI darling that Cowboy fans might want to see after getting snubbed from last years NCAA’s, it is still a notable series based on location, and scheduling a fellow power five team is never a bad thing.
