Sorry for the week off everyone. Had my birthday two weekends ago and Father’s Day this past weekend so I’ve been chock full of good ol’ excuses. Fortunately, the football staff didn’t follow my lead as they’ve been absolutely rolling as of late (despite some controversial AD comments on recruiting). Let’s get back on the trail.
Basketball
Targets
Earl Timberlake, ★★★★ 2020 CG // 6’5 // 175 // Hyattsville, MD
The Dematha Catholic superstar and borderline 5-star guard has become one of my personal favorite prospects and I don’t really know why. The kid plays with some real grit and has a very high-level game. For whatever reason, I’ve had a pretty good feeling about him and he recently announced plans to visit Oklahoma State along with Clemson and Florida soon.

Avery Anderson III, ★★★★ CG // 6’2 // 165 // Justin, TX
With the advent of position-less basketball the “combo guard” has become a popular buzz word that describes anyone that can play on or off the ball. Anderson has all the traits of a bona fide PG though.
2019 Top 100 6’2 PG Avery Anderson III (@averyanderson3_ ) is on an unofficial visit at Oklahoma St. #TheTB5Reports pic.twitter.com/OtAy31V6qm
— Kellen Buffington (@TheTB5Reports) June 8, 2018
He has some insane handles and elite vision and passing. Don’t get me wrong though, he gets buckets too. (I don’t know exactly what a reverse jelly roll is but I know that I want it in orange and black.)
Kalib Boone and Bryce Thompson
As the Boone twins reaffirm their commitment to the Cowboys and focus on improving their game, Bryce Thompson still remains at-large and one of the Cowboys’ highest priority targets for 2020. Both Kalib and Bryce made an appearance this past week at the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
Good luck and safe travels to our guys Kalib Boone and Bryce Thompson as they compete in NBPA Top 100 Camp this week in Virginia! #OKRunPWP #UAA pic.twitter.com/EoPwc7v9h0

Isaiah Todd, ★★★★★ 2020 PF // 6’10 // 195 // Richmond, VA
Isaiah Todd is another one of those massive swings for the fences that Boynton has been taking. Who knows if the Cowboys have a real shot of landing him, but the fact that he’s taking unofficial visits to Stillwater in the middle of June to see what Coach Boynton is up to can’t be a bad thing.

— Team Loaded AAU (@teamloadedaau) June 13, 2018
Dayten Holman, ★★★ 2020 CG // 6’6 // 170 // Norman, OK
Holman is still unrated by 247, but Rivals has him listed as a 3-star player. His recruitment has only just begun to take off, and with his size at the guard position he has a chance to really increase his profile by the time he picks a school. He and a bunch of the OK Run PWP players were hanging out in Stillwater this past week.

Offers
Davion Bradford, ★★★★ 2020 PF/C // 6’10 // 240 // Ponca City, OK
Bradford’s story has been an interesting follow as of late. He recently moved to Ponca City (where former Cowboy Ivan McFarlin just became an assistant coach) and joined OK Run PWP (home of big time 2019 commitments in the Boone twins and major 2020 offers in Bryce Thompson and Dayten Holman). Bradford visited the Pokes twice last week and received an offer on the return trip.
After my visit today, I am blessed to receive an offer from Oklahoma State University! Thank you Coach Boyton @thacoachmike ! #OSU #CowboyNation #OKRUNPWP #AllHoopNoHype pic.twitter.com/nmV35v0OVZ
— Davion Bradford (@iamdbradford) June 16, 2018
Bradford is an above-the-rim athletic specimen with great size and seems to have an even higher ceiling than where he currently sits. This is definitely one to keep an eye on for Cowboy fans.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the 2020 class has the potential to be (and in my opinion is going to be) HUGE for OSU basketball.
Football
Targets
Drake Nugent, ★★★ 2019 C // 6’2 // 260 // Littleton, CO
Nugent is one of the many offensive lineman that Henson has been pursuing out of Colorado. He took an unofficial visit along with Colorado commit and OSU offer Austin Johnson. This is notable because Johnson expressed interest in staying teamed up with his friend and Colorado is yet to offer Nugent.
Has a great visit in Stillwater this weekend! Great town and great football. Thank you @Coach_Henson for showing us around. @SixZeroStrength @bigsalsa101 pic.twitter.com/tZAA30dNwJ
— Drake Nugent (@drakenugent9) June 4, 2018
Demariyon Houston, ★★★★ WR // 6’0 // 165 // Millwood, OK
This stud receiver out of Millwood, once assumed to be a Norman lean, included the Cowboys in his Top 7 with Oklahoma nowhere to be found. The Cowboys are competing with the big boys on this one, but check out his Crystal Ball prediction on 247 . This level of pickup would be massive for both his overall talent and for momentum with other top in-state players Collin Clay and Dax Hill.
thanking god for this talent everyday ....... #TheHollywoodWay ⚡️... TOP 7️⃣ . pic.twitter.com/COEKEYMdXr
— h o l l y w o o d h o u s t o n (@demariyon5) June 8, 2018
Jake Wiley, ★★★ 2019 OG // 6’5 // 250 // Aurora, CO
Another one of the lineman Henson has targeted out of Colorado, Wiley took an official to Stillwater a little over a week ago and has been upgraded to a “Warm” interest level on 247 for the Pokes.

— Adam Munsterteiger (@adamcm777) June 11, 2018
Jaylon Jones, ★★★ 2020 CB // 6’3 // 185 // Cibolo, TX
A stud defensive player out of Cibolo Steele HS in Texas, Jones as a 4-star would be a huge get for the Pokes. He included the Cowboys recently in his Top 7.

— ¹⁷⚡️ (@JayJonez17) June 13, 2018
Langston Anderson, ★★★ 2019 WR // 6’2 // 188 // Midlothian, TX
Anderson has received an offer from the hometown Longhorns as his recruiting has really taken off, but the Pokes still remain in the mix.

— langston(L.A.)anderson (@nikeflow_81) June 15, 2018
Darwin Barlow, ★★★ 2019 RB // 5’11 // 195 // Newton, TX
Barlow has been high on coach Wozniak’s list for a while now and a recent visit seemed to yield some positive momentum towards the Cowboys for the borderline 4-star back.
Official Visit to Oklahoma State was soooo Amazing‼️, Had a great time with my family and with a high class coaching staff @CoachGundy @JohnWozniak2 @jhill21_ pic.twitter.com/Np3VinvpZC
— Darwin Barlow (@darwin_barlow) June 16, 2018
Peyton Powell, ★★★ 2019 ATH // 6’2 // 182 // Odessa, TX
Powell has been recruited on both sides of the ball for a number of schools to play QB, WR, and S as a testament to his athleticism. He released a Top 10 on Monday and it included the Pokes.
I used to pray for times like this... Thank you to all of the coaches that trusted in my ability. That being said here is my TOP 1️⃣0️⃣ schools I will be focusing on (Recruitment Still Open) #SicEm #HottyToddy #Wreckem #GoPokes #Hoos #WPS #HookEm #LittyVille #Frogs #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/sAv6vmpH0p

Offers
With it being #CampSzn, there were a ton of these flying out (and a few of them already yielding positive returns as seen in the section following this one). For the sake of brevity, I’ll just list their names with the usual 247 profile link and include their offer tweet.
Blayne Toll, ★★★★ 2020 DE // 6’5 // 235 // Hazen, AR
Blessed to have received an offer from Oklahoma State University. pic.twitter.com/fg3jhyiI5C
— Blayne Toll (@theblaynetoll) June 6, 2018
Jacolby Criswell, ★★★★ 2020 QB // 6’1 // 203 // Morrilton, AR
Thankful to receive an offer from Oklahoma State. pic.twitter.com/24Davgr3zd
— Jacolby Criswell (@JacolbyCriswell) June 6, 2018
Jonathan McGill, ★★★ 2019 S // 5’9 // 175 // Coppell, TX
AFTER A GREAT CAMP ON MONDAY IN STILLWATER I AM VERY ELATED TO RECEIVE AN OFFER TO PLAY AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY #GoPokes @CoachTimDuffie pic.twitter.com/TJi9osbuba
— Jonathan McGill (@OriginalMcGill3) June 6, 2018
Vernon Broughton, ★★★ 2020 DE // 6’5 // 250 // Houston, TX

— Landyn Watson (@landynwatson) June 10, 2018
Commitments
The Cowboys hauled in seven(!) recruits since the last “On the Trail”, and three of those came on the offensive side of the trenches via ace recruiter Josh Henson. With Henson it was really only a matter of time.
Brendan Costello, ★★★ 2019 QB // 6’0 // 183// San Clemente, CA
Costello would’ve been up in the offers section as well because he received his offer after a good summer camp in Stillwater and committed to the Pokes 8 days later. The Cowboys got their guy at QB for 2019 and CRFF’s Micah Allen talked more about his commitment here.

— Brendan Costello (@brendancostello) June 13, 2018
Committed to Oklahoma State University!#gopokes #cowboyup19 pic.twitter.com/5RqvTIt2yt
While he didn’t have the most impressive offer sheet, he was beginning to garner attention from some PAC-12 schools and the Cowboys and offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich liked what they saw up close enough to lock him in. He chose the Cowboys over Air Force, Army, Eastern Washington, and others.
Xavier Player, ★★★ 2019 CB // 5’11.5 // 166 // Cibolo, TX
Player was another offer out of camp in Stillwater and he was also the quickest to pull the trigger on accepting his offer after just two days.
C O M M I T T E D pic.twitter.com/sc2fhYpUpj
— Xavier Player (@XavierKeawe) June 8, 2018
The Cowboys dipped back into familiar territory for DB’s as Cibolo Steele also produced Jordan Sterns and 2018 DB recruit JayVeon Cardwell.
Thomas Harper, ★★ 2019 ATH // 5’11 // 165 // Knoxville, TN
Stop me if you’ve heard this before; Harper earned an offer following a good showing at the minicamps in Stillwater and accepted his offer just 5 days later.
100% COMMITTED pic.twitter.com/wCzBk9lzYh
— Thomas Harper (@iamtharp) June 11, 2018
Harper is a stellar athlete who does a little bit of everything for Karns High School in Knoxville. He is the younger brother of Cowboy Backer Devin Harper and had offers from a handful of smaller schools in addition to the Pokes.
Na’Drian Dizadare, ★★★ 2019 LB // 6’2 // 200 // Shreveport, LA
Dizadare announced him commitment through 247 and GoPokes.com. The commitment went a little under the radar due to his lack of social media presence (welcome to the 21st century) but this is exactly the kind of under-the-radar stuff the Cowboys and Gundy make a living on.
Na'Drian Dizadare Commits to Pokes #okstate #GoPokes https://t.co/qtYw972yGP via @247sports
— Zachary Lancaster (@zlancaster247) June 10, 2018
The aggressive LB out of Louisiana is just another 3-star + Glass = 5-star in the making.
Joe Michalski, ★★★ 2019 OT // 6’4 // 270 // Overland Park, KS
Michalski was the first of the trio of lineman to commit this past week to the Cowboys. He picked the Cowboys over a number of smaller offers from Cornell, Wyoming, Texas State, and others.
Excited to announce I’m committing to Oklahoma State University to play football! #GoPokes #CowboyUp19 pic.twitter.com/o3Vz1KTrry
— Joe Michalski (@JoeMichalski2) June 15, 2018
Being out of a non-traditional football state in KS certainly doesn’t help your recruiting profile, but he definitely has the frame to play the part (and until further notice #InHensonWeTrust).
Cole Birmingham, ★★★ 2019 OT // 6’4.5 // 294 // Katy, TX
Hailing from powerhouse Katy HS, Birmingham became the third highest-rated prospect in the Cowboys class and the highest rated lineman among the recent trio. Birmingham is a mauler at the highest level of Texas HS football and was a massive pickup for Coach Henson.
After a great official visit, I'm excited to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and athletic career at Oklahoma State University! #GoPokes #CowboyUp19 @CoachGundy @Coach_Henson @CowboyFB @CowboyFB_Elite @OSUAthletics pic.twitter.com/H5tbQ1C2K5
— Cole Birmingham (@cole_birmingham) June 17, 2018
Oh, and that guy he’s opening up holes for is no chump either. In an interview with Rivals discussing his commitment he said he was going to “push him to try and get up there.” Either way, Birmingham is a legitimate OL talent on his own merit.
Preston Wilson, ★★★ 2019 OT // 6’4 // 274 // Argyle, TX
At the time of this being written, Wilson was the latest of the trio of OL to commit to the Cowboys after a visit a couple weeks ago (though at the rate Henson is going, this will be old news before we can hit publish!).
COMMITTED...#GoPokes pic.twitter.com/M989efK7ng
— Preston Wilson (@preston58wilson) June 19, 2018
Wilson is currently the 4th highest rated player in OSU’s 2019 class. He chose the Cowboys amidst a laundry list of offer sheets including Arizona State, Baylor, Boise State, Texas Tech, Washington State, Vanderbilt, Utah, Northwestern, and more.
As always, stay tuned, and #LetsWork.
