This morning the watch lists came out for the Maxwell Award and the Bednarik Award. Oklahoma State have players on both of those lists.

Justice Hill makes the list for the Maxwell Award honoring the national player of the year. Notable names joining him on that list include Alabama Quarterback Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson, Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, West Virginia wide receiver David Sills and West Virginia quarterback Will Grier.
Hill was a workhorse for the Cowboys last season with a team-leading 1,462 total rushing yards and 15 touchdown. He is one of 33 running backs on the list.
Senior linebacker Justin Phillips was named to the Bednarik award list after a season where he made 64 total tackles 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He’s joined by TCU linebackers Ben Bonogu and Ty Summers as well as Texas linebackers Breckyn Hager and Gary Johnson. Texas Tech’s Dakota Allen also makes the list. The Bednarik Award is given to college football’s top linebacker.
