Recruiting: Oklahoma State Makes the Cut for 2019 Point Guard Joshua Pierre-Louis

The Cowboys are still in the running

There are a lot of names being floated around for Mike Boynton’s final available 2019 scholarship. Avery Anderson, Mario McKinney, and Armando Bacot are a few of the big names Cowboy fans have been hearing about. Now you can officially add point guard Joshua Pierre-Louis to the list

The three-star ball-handler from Roselle, New Jersey announced his final three schools on Sunday night. Joining the Cowboys on the list are Georgia and UNLV. Pierre-Louis trimmed his list down from one of 19 offers that included Xavier, Mississippi State, and Seton Hall.

The 6-2, 180-pound guard received his offer from Oklahoma State back on July 18.

With the Boone twins committed, Boynton has seemingly been focusing his efforts on landing a guard to fill his final 2019 spot. The Cowboys currently have two true point guards on the roster in Isaac Likekele and Mike Cunningham. But Cunningham will be gone next year. The Cowboys do have Michael Weathers on the roster, who can play the point, but Boynton is wisely making sure he has depth and talent at the position.

While Pierre-Louis is far from the highest rated point guard that Boynton is targeting, he’s got talent. He’s got good speed and a good handle on the ball, not to mention some good moves getting to the rim.
