High Noon Highlights(8/17): James Washington makes insane catch. Morgan Hoffmann prepares for Morgan Hoffman Foundation Pro-AM

Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed yesterday in Oklahoma State Athletics.

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Green Bay Packers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

It’s high noon...

James Washington makes insane catch:

In last night’s Steelers game against the Green Bay Packers, James Washington made a catch that would give Randy Moss a run for his money. While the game didn’t go so well for his team, Washington played outstanding. He’s definitely working his way to being a starter once the regularw season starts.

He basically makes the guys guarding him look like they have no idea what they’re doing and makes the catch in the back of the end zone. He would end his night with five catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s so good to see such an outstanding player and person doing well in the NFL.

Morgan Hoffmann gets ready for Morgan Hoffman Foundation Pro-Am:

The Morgan Hoffman Foundation will help fight Muscular Dystrophy through a charity golf tournament at Arcola County Club. He posted a behind the scenes photo of the preperation on his Instagram page.

“Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors who have made it possible to begin our fight against Muscular Dystrophy! See you all Sunday and Monday! “

It’s incredibly inspiring to see something like this. Hoffmann was diagnosed with disease his tournament will help fight in November of 2016. I cannot recommend strongly enough reading his piece for Player’s Tribune.

Vanessa Shippy named nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year:

Former Oklahoma State Softball standout Vanessa Shippy has been named one of 154 woman to be considered for NCAA Woman of the Year. The award is given to a graduating female student-athlete. Not only does the award recognize their worn on the softball diamond but academics and community service are also considered. Congrats to an outstanding Cowgirl!

That’s all for today folks! Have a great weekend and we’ll be back on Monday with more highlights!
