Mike Boynton continues to make waves on the recruiting trail, building strong relationships with some of the top high school talent in the country.
That now seems to include four-star Georgia forward Marcus Watson, who named Oklahoma State in his Top-10 schools.
Watson, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound small forward is the consensus second-ranked player in the state of Georgia, and the 8th ranked player at his position.
Watson cut his list of 17 offers down to a Top-10 on Friday. Joining OSU are North Carolina State, Oregon, Iowa, Florida, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss.
The Cowboys have been high on Watson for a long while now, having offered him back in May of 2017. That said, as of now, 247Sports has Georgia Tech as the favorite, which makes sense. They’re in-state, and Yellow Jacket head coach Josh Pastner has made Watson one of their top priority targets. Watson made three unofficial visits to the school earlier this year, so the two sides are very familiar with each other. Ole Miss is also reportedly pushing hard for Watson.
Honestly, this doesn’t feel like one that OSU is going to land. Whether or not they do, it’s good to continue to see Boynton’s work building relationships with four and five star kids at least keeping OSU in the hunt.
Watson is a good scorer, has some hops, and enjoys getting to the rim where he has some nice moves. He also has a nice outside shot.
