High Noon Highlights: Leyton Hammonds signs with Hungarian team, Robin Ventura inducted in Oklahoma Sports HOF

Leyton Hammonds signs with professional team in Hungary:

After his rookie season of professional basketball in Finland with BC Nokia, former Oklahoma State Cowboy Leyton Hammonds has signed a deal with Kormend. Hammonds averaged 13.7 points and had 6.7 rebounds last season. Kormend is a team playing in Hungary’s highest domestic league.

It’s great to see former Cowboys making moves all over the globe.

Robin Ventura inducted in Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame:

After an impressive career in the orange and black from 1986-1988 with two College World Series that included a runner-up finish in 1987, Former Oklahoma State third baseman Robin Ventura was inducted into the OKlahoma Sports Hall of Fame last night. Ventura’s impressive college career also included a Golden Spike Award in 1988. He set an NCAA record for hitting streaks at 58 games and had a staggering 428 career batting average. Congrats to one of the greatest to play baseball for Oklahoma State!

Cowboy Basketball to play first exhibition in Europe:

The work begins for Cowboy Basketball today as they take on the Italian National “B” Team in their first exhibition of the trip at 1 p.m. central time. The game will be streamed on Facebook. This will be the only of the three games to be streamed. You can keep up with the games on @OSUMBB on Twitter. They’ll be live tweeting all of the games their. This will be the first looks we get of the new members of Mike Boynton’s squad in game situations. They take a train to Rome tomorrow where they’ll have a day off with a tour of the Vatican City then play the Netherlands National “B” Team on Thursday.
