High Noon Highlights(8/9): Happy Birthday Coach Smith

Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics.

NCAA Basketball: Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Oklahoma State Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

It’s high noon...

Happy Birthday to Coach John Smith!:

A legendary Cowboy is having a 53rd Birthday today. It’s Wrestling coach John Smith’s special day! Smith has not only won gold for the United State’s at the Olympics, but has won two National Championships as an athlete at OSU and coached OSU wrestlers to more. We hope you have the best day coach Smith.

#CardiacCowboys:

ESPN’s David Hale tweeted out the top records in one sore games in the past five years. Topping the list is Oklahoma State with a 15-3 record when the game is tight. If there was ever any doubt why Oklahoma State fans affectionately call them the cardiac cowboys here’s statistical proof. Ohio State with a 13-3 record Clemson with a 17-4 record, ODU with a 14-4 record and USF with a 15-5 record round out the top five.

More updates from Cowboy Basketball in Rome:

Next stop for Cowboy Basketball on their European adventure is Rome. The Cowboys posted a video from the Colosseum this morning. The team took a tour of the seventh wonder and brought fans along for the ride. These updates have been a blast to watch as the Boynton and his team take the trip of a lifetime.

They’ll take on the Netherlands National Team reserve squad at 1 p.m. central for their second exhibition of the trip. While there won’t be a stream of today’s game,@OSUmbb will be keeping fans updates on Twitter. We’ll be retweeting them from our account @cowboysrff.

Rickie’s wardrobe for the PGA Championship:

The PGA Championship is underway today at Bellerive Golf Course and Rickie Fowler has shown fans a glimpse of the styles he’ll be rocking during the tournament.

Or course Fowler will be sporting his signature bright orange shirt should he make it to Sunday. Rickie is currently tied with Justin Thomas and Stewart Cink for the lead as he’s 3-under through 12.

That’s all for today! Have a wonderful afternoon.
