Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics.

MMA: UFC 230 - Cormier vs Lewis Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

It’s high noon...

Miocic wants a rematch before Cormier’s retirement:

MMA fighter Stipe Miocic wants a rematch with former Oklahoma State wrestler (and current MMA fighter) Daniel Cormier. He wants a chance to defeat DC after losing the match at UFC 226.

The former UFC heavyweight champion and record holder for most consecutive defenses in that division has been on Cormier’s case for a rematch ever since the two fought at UFC 226 last July. Cormier, who entered the bout as the light heavyweight champion, defeated Miocic by first-round KO to end Miocic’s reign and become a two-division title holder. {MMAFighting.com}

Here’s some footage of former cowboy Jordan Brailford putting in some work at practice for the Shrine Game this weekend.

How Todd Monken to the Browns affects Mike Gundy’s OC search:

Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World has a great story about the Browns hiring of Todd Monken changes Mike Gundy’s search for a new OC.

Then again, Gundy may execute another out-of-the-box search and hire — like he did with Yurcich six years ago.

At OSU, Monken coached a quarterback (Brandon Weeden) who for a short period in 2011 was the Heisman Trophy frontrunner.

With Tampa Bay, Monken coached 2013 Heisman recipient Jameis Winston.

With Cleveland, Monken coaches another Heisman QB — Mayfield, the 2017 winner.

While at OSU, Weeden’s defining characteristic was his ability to execute every pass with uncommon accuracy. Mayfield was phenomenally accurate at OU and followed with a tremendous rookie season in Cleveland. {Tulsa World}
