It’s high noon...
Harvell-Peel earns Big 12 honor:
For the third time this season, Kolby Harvell-Peel has earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Peel had been killing it lately. After weeks of breaking up a lot of passes, he’s turned that into interceptions.
The sophomore safety recorded two interceptions in the game and now ranks No. 3 in the FBS in passes defended this season. He was also credited with a pass break up and three tackles against KU.
Harvell-Peel is responsible for five turnovers in the past two games. He has been credited with seven turnovers this season, including five interceptions and two fumble recoveries. He has also forced two fumbles and leads all OSU defensive backs with 60 total tackles on the year. {Sports Illustrated}
Trace Ford is better than expected:
Mike Gundy has been pleasantly surprised with the development of DB Trace Ford. He’s been a difference make on defense earlier than expected.
“He hasn’t hit the wall,” Gundy said. “Most true freshmen that play as much as he has in games will hit a wall at some point. They just get tired. Practice is hard, it’s more than they’ve ever had. Lifting is difficult, the games are exhausting. The wear and tear of a season, school, all those things, and he’s handled himself really well.” {The Oklahoman}
Dan Bailey hits 1,000 career points:
Congrats to former Cowboy Dan Bailey hit his 1,000th career point with an extra kick in Monday Night Football.
With his extra point following a touchdown by rookie tight end Irv Smith, Jr., Bailey hit the 1,000-point mark for his career.
Bailey reached the benchmark just one week after the Vikings Sunday Night Football win over the Cowboys, with whom he spent his first seven NFL seasons after signing with Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
He joined the Vikings following Week 2 of the 2018 season and in March signed an extension to stay in Purple. {Vikings.com}
