Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics and beyond.

NCAA Football: Oregon Spring Game

It’s high noon...

Marcus Arroyo headed to UNLV, per reports:

Former Oklahoma State Assistant Marcus Arroyo has reportedly landed his first head coaching position after being with the Oregon Ducks as an offensive coordinator for two years.

Arroyo is a 39 year old former San Jose State QB that had served as a Co-OC under former Oregon head coach Willie Taggart in 2017 before he was named the sole OC under current head coach Mario Cristobal.

He started his coaching career at San Jose State as a graduate assistant in 2003. He has been associated with Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy, former Tampa Bay HC and Atlanta Falcons OC Dirk Koetter, SJSU HC Dick Tomey, and former Fresno State and Cal HC Jeff Tedford.

As sole Oregon OC, he has led the Ducks offense to a 34.85 points per game and 427.2 yards per game along with 62 total touchdowns during the 2018 season. Thus far into the 2019 season, he has led the offense to 35.92 points per game and 450.7 yards per game plus 63 touchdowns. {Addicted to Quack}

Oklahoma State match up with A&M:

The Eagle wrote a piece on what this bowl match up means for the Aggies. and to put it lightly they’re not impressed.

Bragging rights will be on the line between the Big 12 and the Southeastern Conference, and Oklahoma State is ranked 25th, so the Aggies do have a chance to upgrade their current best victory of the season, which is 6-6 Mississippi State. Both schools recruit Greater Houston hard, and A&M coach Jimbo Fisher and OSU coach Mike Gundy are both former quarterbacks who certainly will do their part promoting the game, which takes place in an NFL stadium with thousands of Aggies within an hour’s driving distance.

It’s a good, convenient matchup, just don’t make it any more or less than what it is. {The Eagle}
