It’s High Noon...
Tylan Wallace should become “next household name”
Tylan Wallace is @CowboyFB's latest great wide receiver. Now, it's time for the nation to start paying attention to @OfficialTylan2, who might just be CFB's best WR: https://t.co/qpKzECi1U6

But he was expected to be a third or fourth option in 2018 behind returning players like Jalen McCleskey, Dillon Stoner and Tyron Johnson. All of those receivers made an impact – though McCleskey transferred after four games – but nobody on Oklahoma State’s roster produced more than Wallace. Scratch that. Few nationally had season like Wallace.
Wallace isn’t particularly physically imposing at 6-foot, 185 pounds. But he’s got above average speed with excellent body control. He led the nation with 23 contested catches a year ago, per PFF College, making plays much in the same way Washington did the season prior. He’s a deep ball savant in a system that rewards that ability more than almost any other.
Stewart Mandel has Oklahoma State on upset watch in Week 1 ($)
The Athletics Stewart Mandel posted his weekly mailbag and in was a surprising prediction for Oklahoma State season opener.
And lastly, may I point you to the rare Power 5 vs. Power 5 upset trap? Oklahoma State (-17) at Oregon State. The Cowboys, on paper, should be much, much better than the recently dreadful Beavers (3-21 the past two seasons). But the game is in Corvallis on a Friday night. Mike Gundy doesn’t yet know who his quarterback will be. And Oregon State does boast a couple gamebreakers in RB Jermar Jefferson (1,380 yards as a freshman) and WR Isaiah Hodgins. {The Athletic}
Oklahoma State ranked 8th among receiving corps
Bleacher Report ranked their top receiving corps heading into 2019, and they had Oklahoma State ranked 8th on their list.
New coordinator Sean Gleeson’s impact is a wild card, but he brings a creative system from Princeton. Of course, as long as he features Wallace, the Pokes should be just fine.{Bleacher Report}

Hovland earned his ticket to the U.S. Open by beating Devon Bling, 6 and 5, in the U.S. Amateur final at Pebble Beach.
He plans to turn pro next week at the Travelers Championship and will be four straight weeks on Tour. He is grouped with Brooks Koepka and Francesco Molinari for the first two rounds at Pebble. He has Oklahoma State head coach Alan Bratton on the bag.
