It’s high noon...
Previews of Oklahoma State football’s first opponent for 2019:
If you want a look into the first team Oklahoma State will face next season, look no further than SB Nation. Oklahoma State will face the Beavers in Corvallis on August 30. Bill Connelly previews what to expect from them preseason.
Entering 2019, they’ve regressed for five of the last six years. They had fallen to 62nd by 2014, when Riley inexplicably got hired away by Nebraska. Former Utah State and Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen took over, oversaw a first-year reset, engineered a slight second-year rebound, and then collapsed. He quit halfway through 2017, and OSU went 1-11 and ranked 109th. Smith took over and maintained form offensively, but the defense was an absolute nightmare. The Beavers went 2-10 but fell to 111th.
So here we are. Smith understands his surroundings and, with his experience under both Riley and Petersen, what it takes to build a program. But before he can, he has to head off the collapse. He most certainly did not in year one.{SB Nation}
Show makes Women’s College World Series All-Tournament team:
After being the talk of Oklahoma City with her bat flips and impressive play, Samantha Show was named to the All-Tournament team at the WCWS.

It was also announced that Show will play for Scrap Yard Fast Pitch this summer.
Show has become recognized nationwide as ‘The Queen of Bat Flips’ in 2019 after her fiery flip-based celebrations, most notably doing so with a thunderous bat flip at the Women’s College World Series last week after she hit her second home run off Florida ace Kelly Barnhill to seal the Cowgirls’ first WCWS victory since 1998.
Her second home run off Barnhill made her just the second pitcher to hit two home run in a World Series game, the other being UCLA’s Megan Langenfeld in 2010.
”While some say Sam is polarizing, I was impressed by how she ignored the critics and just played the game, especially in the WCWS where her performance silenced a lot of the critics,” SYFP general manager Connie May said in the team’s announcement. “I guess it’s kind of hard to talk with your jaw dropped open. Sam has been passionate since she was a young athlete growing up in the Houston area. She will bring a level of versatility to our team and keep fans on the edge of their seats wanting see more of the greatest Show on earth!” {okstate}
