After two years as a graduate assistant at Saint Louis, former Cowboy sharpshooter will join Sam Houston State as an assistant coach. Best of luck to Phil in his new chapter in the sport!

Cowboy baseball stock watch after 2019

”The Cowboys continue to overachieve under Josh Holliday. After beginning the season unranked, Oklahoma State was up and down throughout the first three months of the season.”

“When the calendar flipped to May, however, the Cowboys hit the accelerator, as they so often have under Holliday. They began the month by sweeping Oregon State on the road and ended it by winning the Big 12 Tournament, which put them in position to host a regional.”

Cole Thompson talks OSU commitment

“I didn’t really think I was good enough,” said Thompson, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker who is No. 14 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 recruit rankings for the class of 2020. “It just never crossed my mind that I was any good.”{The Oklahoman}

Troy was the first program to offer last spring, and Thompson saw other programs starting to reach out. Then, Oklahoma State’s interest began to pick up.

He took an unofficial visit to Stillwater in late March, not expecting it to be anything more than a trip to check out the facilities and meet the coaches.

But the Cowboys extended an offer and sent Thompson home with something to think about.
