It’s High Noon…

Jake Lyons part of a combined no-hitter

Former Oklahoma State pitcher Jake Lyons played a part in the first no-hitter in Class A short season Aberdeen Ironbirds franchise history. Lyons, a 22nd round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in June, pitched five no-hit innings with five strikeouts. When he reached 61 pitches in the fifth inning, his day was done. James Ryan and Kyle Martin finished off the game without allowing a hit, completing the combined no-no. First overall overall pick Adley Rutchsman of Oregon State was behind the plate.

Frisco Classic schedule announced

OSU will head down to Dr Pepper Ballpark for the first time since 2017 for the Frisco Classic. The Cowboys will join Illinois, Texas A&M and UCLA for the weekend. OSU will play the Bruins, Fighting Illini and Aggies in consecutive days.

Daniel Cormier gearing up for UFC 241

Former OSU All-American wrestler and current UFC heavyweight champion will defend his title against Stipe Miocic on Saturday at UFC 241 in Anaheim. In the UFC 241 Countdown episode, current Cowboy Nick Piccininni is seen working a camp with Cormier.
