It’s high noon...

Andrew Heaney is expected to get back in the Angel’s rotation:

Former Oklahoma State pitcher Andrew Heaney should be OK to return for the Angels this weekend against the Red Sox. The LA Times reported Heaney is feeling OK after an inflamed left shoulder put him on the injured list July 20.

But Heaney should provide some stability. When healthy, he has proven himself capable of anchoring a rotation. He was the Angels’ mainstay last year, leading the team with 180 innings and making a career-best 30 starts. {LA Times}

Chris Carson might have to break a promise he made to his mother:

When talking to the media at training camp, former OSU back Chris Carson mentioned he promised he wouldn’t leap over defenders. That might be a promise he’ll have to break.

“I mean I promised her that,” Carson told reporters on Tuesday regarding a vow made to his mother that he won’t hurdle defenders. “But it is what it is. If it happens it happens.”

If it happens, Carson will be hearing about it.

“She talked to me about that almost every day, especially when she sees in the interviews talking about not jumping she brings it up,” Carson said. “But I can’t make any promises.”{NBC Sports}

He also confirmed Tuesday that he had arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason.

Marcus Smart on ESPN’s “The Jump:”

Former Cowboy Marcus Smart talked with ESPN’s “The Jump” about what went wrong for the Celtics this past season, his relationship with former teammate Kyrie Irving and more.
