Oklahoma State climbed seven spots to No. 10 in the Associated Press’ Top 25 poll after a dominant 47-7 win at Kansas. It’s the first time since 2017 that the Cowboys are ranked inside the top 10.
Clemson and Alabama remained Nos. 1-2 in the poll, while Georgia traded spots with Florida at No. 3.
OSU is the top-ranked team in the Big 12 after Texas were upset 33-31 at home by TCU. The Longhorns fell from No. 9 to 22 with the loss. Oklahoma fell out of the top 25 following a 37-30 loss at Iowa State Cyclones, which moved into the top 25 at No. 24.
It’s the first time since Nov. 8, 2009, the Cowboys are ranked in the top 25 and the Sooners are not.
Four Big 12 teams received votes: Kansas State (142), TCU (97), OU (20), West Virginia (13).
The Cowboys have a bye week before they visit Baylor on Oct. 17 in Waco, Texas.
