The Opponent:

The Golden Eagles have gotten off to the perfect start going 2-0 against Arkansas Pine Bluff and Eastern Illinois. Theo John should be a defensive presence on the court with 3.5 blocks per game. On the scoring side they are without Markus Howard who was their top scorer last year with 27.8 Points per game.

3 Things to Watch:

I’m going to stick with what Zach said in the preview for the season opener with my own spin on them because honestly it’s still the same things I would have said.

Newcomers-

This team is full of bright young talent. Rondel Walker, Cade Cunningham, Graduate transfer Ferron Flavors just to name a few. Mike Boynton worked his butt off in the past year getting some talent the has the potential to bring Oklahoma State to the next level.

Size-

The Cowboys had tall guys, but as anonymous eagle pointed out in their preview, they don’t had big guys. The tallest starter is Kalib Boone and weight 210. But I think they’ve done a good job with the bodies they’ve got. Their guard-heavy lineup is the reason I think they’ve been able to put up as many points as they have.

Cade Cunningham-

This is the first big road test for Cunningham. I know going to Arlington was a big deal for him considering it was his hometown, but Marquette is a different animal. They’re not UT Arlington or Texas Southern. This is a big game. I’m curious to see how Cunningham handles the pressure.
