Football Recruiting: OSU lands quick commitment from JUCO Linebacker Nathan Latu

The Cowboys land their 19th verbal commitment for 2021

This might be a record for fastest commitment for Oklahoma State.

On Friday, Snow College linebacker Nathan Latu both announced that he had received an offer from Oklahoma State and his commitment to the Cowboys, in the same tweet.

Latu will be a member of the Cowboys’ 2021 class. He also had offers form UNLV, Idaho, Idaho State, Missouri State, and Montana State.

The Salt Lake City, Utah native was a member of BYU’s 2018 class, before transferring to Snow College. Out of high school, he was a three-star prospect, rated as the No. 19 recruit in Utah.

According to Cody Nagel of GoPokes, Latu is expected to be an edge rusher for OSU.

During his rookie season in 2019, Latu saw action in six games and totaled 21 tackles, including 8.5 TFLs and 3.5 sacks. He also forced three fumbles.

Latu’s commitment brings Oklahoma State’s total verbal commitment count to 19 for the 2021 class, and means 21 of the possible 25 available scholarships for 2021 are now accounted for (assuming all verbal commits sign). Latu is also the third linebacker commit, joining four-star ILB Collin Oliver and three-star OLB Donovan Stephens.
