Marcus Smart has fully recovered from the COVID-19 virus and will donate his blood plasma for research, according to Stadium’s Shams Charania. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy announced on Sunday that the Massachusetts Department of Health cleared him on Friday, Mar. 27.

Smart has been outspoken about the virus and making sure Americans are taking the necessary steps to ensure we are able to flatten the curve as much as possible ever since his positive diagnosis. Smart’s donation comes as no surprise to the Cowboy family, his many NBA fans and anyone who follows his Twitter account (@smart_MS3) for anyone wondering.

Smart is doing his part as are so many others. The real heroes are on the front lines in our hospitals treating those who are experiencing the worst of symptoms or fighting for their lives. The real heroes are in laboratories working around the clock to find a vaccine. We all have a part though. For most of us, that simply means staying inside and socially distancing ourselves from others. Together we will defeat this.
