High (After) Noon Highlights: Mike Boynton talks about where his love of sports came from

Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics and beyond!

NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Tournament-Oklahoma State vs Iowa State Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

It’s high noon,,,, (I know it’s really not but who know’s what time it really is at the moment?)...

Mike Boynton talks passion for sports:

The Oklahoman has a wonderful series they’ve been doing where their sports department loves sports. They have no added Oklahoma State head basketball coach Mike Boynton into the mix.

But sports has also opened unbelievable doors to things that I just never imagined. I became the head coach of Oklahoma State University, for Christ’s sakes.

Sports, right? It’s the only way that happens. I’m from Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, New York. You don’t wind up in Stillwater, Oklahoma, without sports — I don’t.

I don’t go to college for free without sports. I don’t travel the world in many ways that I have and meet the people that I have without sports. I don’t marry the woman I did or have the son that I have or 4-year-old daughter without sports. {The Oklahoman}

A.J. Green predicted in fourth round to Cardinals:

Bleacher Report just released it’s latest mock draft. With Oklahoma State Cornerback A.J. Green in the fourth round going to Arizona.

Much has changed around the NFL since we last checked in with a mock draft. Tom Brady is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Philip Rivers an Indianapolis Colt, and other trades and signings have filled and created team needs.

What hasn’t changed is the expectation that Joe Burrow will be the choice at No. 1 overall. Barring a massive trade offer, it will be the Cincinnati Bengals selecting the 2019 Heisman Trophy winner.

After that, everything is fluid. {Bleacher Report}

A look inside the day the season stopped for Cowgirl Tennis:

The O’Colly released a fantastic look behind the scenes of the day sports stopped.

Here’s coach Chris Young:

“It started taking on different steps,” Young said. “It went from we weren’t going to travel and play that weekend, to we were going to have two weeks off from the conference, to the nationals being canceled all in the span of an hour, hour and a half.

”All those things started happening pretty fast.” (OColly)
