It’s high noon...

Tony Allen remember meeting Eddie Sutton:

Tony talked about Eddie Sutton on the Chris Vernon show.

“When I first met Eddie I asked him am I going pro if go here, I have five schools looking at me am I going pro.” “He leaned backed and propped his leg and said if you listen to everything I tell you to do I don’t see why not.

Well Eddie was right, Allen would go on to play in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzles.

Bedlam staffs could be looking a salary cuts:

Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World writes that like many Americans, the staffs of Oklahoma’s two largest athletics departments could be looking at salary reductions in the next year.

For the 2019-20 fiscal year, OU head football coach Lincoln Riley, OSU head coach Mike Gundy and their assistant coaches are paid a combined total of nearly $21 million.

Power Five head coaches and assistants reached an enviable level of compensation because of a combination of hard work, expertise and success at previous stops. It feels awkward to suggest that anyone should or will be dealt a salary reduction, but $21 million? That’s a lot of money. {Tulsa World}

Chuba joins the Oilers podcast:

In the third and final “best of” episode, Tony and Kate share highlights from interviews with Letterkenny’s Dylan Playfair, country music star Brett Kissel, college football standout Chuba Hubbard and Canadian soccer sensation Alphonso Davies. {Oilers.com}
