It’s that time of the college football season, when contenders turn into pretenders and the hope that springs eternal in every OSU fan’s heart is dashed upon the rocks of reality (also known as Bedlam).
Five teams with hopes of making it to the Big 12 Bullshit Rematch game are entering a brutally critical stretch of the season where it looks like OU and Iowa State could turn that abomination of a matchup into the Big 12 Bullshit Rematch Rematch game.
All teams are in action this weekend and all but one of them matters. Let’s dive in...
Texas at #16 Baylor (12pm ET on ABC)
Baylor -3.0
O/U 61.5
Nothing about this line or over/under feels good to me. Other than the loss to Oklahoma State, the Bears have looked pretty darn good (Iowa State fans will say they got lucky in Ames, boo hoo). But Texas is good enough to pull off some wins. I'd be ok if they pulled one off here. This is for you Baylor...
#22 Bloody Mustard Whirly Birds at West Virginia (2pm ET on ESPN+)
Iowa State -7.0
O/U 48
First, Vegas favors the Cyclones by 7 over undefeated OSU...then they give them the exact same line in Morgantown. I have no idea what to think anymore, but this line is bad news. Iowa State should win this game handily and I'll take the under.
Texas Tech at #4 Oklahoma (3:30pm ET on ABC)
OU -19.5
O/U 66.5
The ONLY thing I'm touching here is the over/under as you shouldn't trust the Sooners with any points, although I would say if this were in Lubbock I'd have more hope that Yosemite Sam won't get boat raced. OU doesn't need to worry about anything until that three-game gauntlet to end the regular season kicks off in two weeks. Oh right, of course you get a bye before starting the hardest part of your season. Sooner Voodoo bullshit.
TCU at Kansas State (3:30pm ET on ESPNU)
KState -3.5
O/U 58.5
WHAT KIND OF HOT GARBAGE IS THIS THAT THIS GAME GETS A NATIONAL NETWORK BUT THE IOWA STATE GAME THAT MATTERS GETS PLUSSED?
Kansas at #15 Oklahoma State (7pm ET on FS1)
OSU -30.5
O/U 54.5
Vegas is on vacation as they expect an offense that can't score more than 28 points in a game and a defense that can't hold opponents under 14 points to cover a 30.5 point spread and a 54.5 over/under against a team that held OU to 35 points and took them to the 4th quarter last week. Gundy already said he expected this to be a 4th quarter game, so if I'm a Kansas fan I'm calling my bookie like this...
Hold your breath...
GO POKES!!!
