The Cowboys are 8-1. After falling behind 3-0 in Saturday’s game, they would never look back and come out of Morgantown with their eighth win of the season.

Tay Martin would have a game with 7 receptions for 63 yards and two touchdowns. It seems as if him and Spencer Sanders have found a rhythm. Including this play:

The team’s second leading receiver would be Brennan Presley. He would finish the game with 6 catches for 53 yards. Oklahoma States other offense would be at the hands of Jaylen Warren who rushed for 78 yards on 16 carries and scored a touchdown.

The biggest star of the day though was the Oklahoma State defense. Morgantown is not an easy place to play and they we’re able to go into a tough environment and hold the home team to 3 points. Brock Martin and Devin Harper would end the game with a pair of sacks a piece.

The Cowboys would also benefit from some special teams mistakes by the Mountaineers. Korie Black recovered a fumble on a kickoff at the West Virginia 26. This would lead to the Cowboys scoring a touchdown four plays later. That would end up being the nail in the coffin for the Mountaineers.

WVU quarterback Jarret Doege struggled with the pressure that Oklahoma State’s defense was bringing all game. He would end the day 15 of 22 for 109 yards and an interception. Spencer Sanders would go 21 for 31 for 182 yards. He would also have an interception but would throw for two touchdowns connecting with Tay Martin.

The West Virginia defense had some costly penalties. Including a roughing the passer on Jared Bartlett that would lead to Oklahoma State’s first score of the game.

With this win, the Cowboys stay in the drivers seat of their destiny when it comes to the Big 12 Championships as well as the College Football Playoff. Next up the Cowboys will take on the TCU Horned Frogs in Boone Pickens Saturday Nov.13.
