The Pokes landed an under the radar wide receiver in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, product Mason Gilkey. He doesn’t yet have a recruiting profile on any of the major services and is unranked nationally. Gilkey stands at a tall 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds and caught 26 touchdowns on well over 1,200 yards last season.
Though Pawhuska may be a small town, Gilkey had the benefit of playing with a division I quarterback in North Texas signee Bryce Drummond — who is the son of Food Network star Ree Drummond. Gilkey will look to impress as a senior playing with a new quarterback in 2021.
Oklahoma State is Gilkey’s only known offer at the time. Prior to his signing, Oklahoma State sits at 14th in the nation for the class of 2022. Gilkey joins Euless Trinity (TX) running back Ollie Gordon and Beggs (OK) athlete CJ Brown as the Pokes’ offensive recruits for the class.
