NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Conference Tournament-Oklahoma State vs Texas Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

It’s high noon...

Oklahoma State enters Big Dance as 4-seed:

Yesterday was selection Sunday, and for the first time since 2017, Oklahoma State is going dancing. They will play Liberty in the first round who is the No.13. The Cowboys find themselves in the Midwest region. The No.1 seed in this region is Illinois. Coached by former Oklahoma State head coach Brad Underwood.

The Cowboys built one of the nation’s most impressive NCAA Tournament resumes. Oklahoma State ranks second nationally with 10 N.E.T. Quadrant-1 victories and owns a 10-6 Q1 record. The Cowboys also have nine wins over Associated Press top-25 squads, which leads the nation.

OSU soared up the bracket thanks to an incredible stretch that included six ranked wins in 19 days. According to ESPN Stats & Info, that is the second-shortest span for six ranked wins in the AP Poll era (1948-49) behind only UConn’s magical run to the 2011 NCAA title.{okstate.com}

It’s time to make sure Boynton gets paid:

Bill Haisten wrote a great piece on Boynton being the lowest-paid coach in the Big 12 and why that should no longer be a thing.

Boynton is a really good coach whose Cowboys lost 91-86 to Texas in the Big 12 Tournament finale. With blue-chip superstar Cade Cunningham and an athletic, fun-to-watch supporting cast, OSU during the second half of the season was among the more talked-about teams in the country.

Imagine how sick OSU people would feel if Boynton were to leave. He is on the short list of coaches who always seem to say and do the right things. During his media sessions, he frequently weaves references to Henry Iba and Eddie Sutton into his remarks. Boynton looks good in orange, and OSU’s mission now is to keep his closet filled with orange blazers and shirts. {Tulsa World}

Potential tourney match-ups for the Cowgirls:

The men’s team aren’t the only ones going dancing! Tonight, the Cowgirls will find out their NCAA tournament fate.

Oregon State (projected 9 seed)

The Cowgirls are currently projected to face the Oregon State beavers in a battle of the OSU’s.

“Oregon State has a big, Taylor Jones, who is tall. She’s 6’7 or 6’6 and she’s a very good player so that would be someone (to factor in).,” Creme said. “They’re a very disciplined offensive team. They’ve got good guards, smart guards who are very well coached and they’re playing their best basketball. They beat three top ten teams in the last two weeks.” {O’Colly}

Song of the Day:
