Jordan Crook made his pledge to the Cowboys official via Twitter. The Duncanville product became the eighth player to commit to Oklahoma State in the class of 2022, and the third player from the DFW metroplex.
Crook chose the Cowboys over Arkansas and Baylor. Former Cedar Hill head coach Joey McGuire was hard after Crook’s commitment for his Baylor Bears and Arkansas made a late push for Crook’s services before he committed to OSU.
Oklahoma State’s other commit at the linebacker position is home grown talent Gabe Brown. The Stillwater product is a three-star rated as the 978th best player in the country. Crook is rated 445th in the country and becomes OSU’s third highest rated commit in the class of 2022. C.J. Brown (260) and Ollie Gordon (272) are rated higher than Crook and Garret Rangel (484) is also rated in the top 500 players, according to 247sports.com.
Crook finished his junior season with 93 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, six sacks and three interceptions, according to 247sports.com. Duncanville boasted plenty of talent on the defensive side of the football last season. Kendrick Blackshire signed with Alabama and Jadarius Thursby signed with SMU. Crook and defensive end Omari Abor will lead the Panthers on defense next season.
Oklahoma State now has the 10th rated class for 2022 following Crook’s commitment. The Cowboys sit just ahead of Florida State and just behind Michigan. The class is still ranked third in the Big 12 with Texas having the fourth overall rated class and OU currently sitting at No. 5 in the nation.
